Poco Filter FAQ - Options for filtering addresses

Q: I was just about to add a new filter on Poco3 and it offered me a new choice that confused me.

I had been using the term %addressbooks%, a hidden command.  Now, apparently, it is no longer hidden and there are other choices, known senders, allowed senders, allowed recipients and banned senders.

Known senders uses the %addressbooks% statement I have been using. I presume that I should select this choice but what do the other options do? Is there a better altenative?

A:
Known senders it the correct choice, it refers to addresses in any of your address books. I'll describe the other three below, they all relate to junk mail filtering:

- Allowed senders - These are the email addresses and domains that you have explicitly allowed to bypass the junk mail filters via the "Allowed senders" button. These addresses are stored in the "exceptsenders.txt" file in your Mail directory.

- Allowed recipients - These are the email addresses and domains that you have explicitly allowed to receive messages in the Junk Mail filters. These are only used by those people who use email forwarding so is probably of no consequence to you. The addresses are stored in the "exceptreceivers.txt" file in your Mail directory.

- Banned senders - These are the email addresses and domains that you have explicitly banned in your Junk Mail filter settings. These are stored in the "junksender.txt" file in your Mail directory.
