Poco Reading FAQ - Displaying external images

Q: When I receive an HTML e-mail (for example, an e-newsletter), all of the images are replaced with exclamation points on a yellow background. If I forward the mail to an Outlook account, the images display correctly. How can I fix this.

A:
Poco does not automatically download external images when displaying messages. This is a security feature to prevent spammers from validating your email address. You can change this behaviour by pressing the tri-colour button at the top right of the preview pane. This button acts as a toggle and the setting is remembered.
In Poco 3, the icon looks like this: When you hover your mouse over the icon, you'll see an identifying tooltip, "Toggle image downloading." If you want to remove this button from the toolbar, right-click on it and uncheck "Show Security Control." To learn more about the other Security Controls, click here.
In Poco 2, the icon looks like this: When you hover your mouse over the icon, you'll see this tooltip: "Download External Images."
