Some quests by a newbie [Mod: Access Forum + Extras]

Hello,

please let me say at first:
I'm German and i Use the english part in order to brush up my
knowledge (so please: if Iuse a word not really correct, there is no
offense meant. :)
1. It's really hard to find this forum. Normally a forum is linked on
the the homepage. Or have people to solve a test to come
here?*G
2. On Pocos server might be an interesting part (called extra in
German). Reachable with username and pass. Well, buying Poco
I got some mess, but found nothing looking like username or
pass. If I use the license key as user I'm missing the pass.:-0

Hi geezer & Wilkommen zum Poco Forums, :D

Glad you found it anyway! :)
It needs improvement, but PSI is working on it.
2. On Pocos server might be an interesting part (called extra in German).

To access the Extra section you only have to insert your license key (= username), no password is needed.
If you're using the built-in feature in Poco (Help) than you don't have to insert anything. :)

It could however be that something went wrong at the reseller or that your license key wasn't entered into the database.
Wait a few days to see if it works.

If still no access: Send a support message from within Poco to Support, so they can grant you access to the Extras.

if Iuse a word not really correct, there is no offense meant.
Understood, it's easy to offend someone, because of the international differences and not knowing the English by heart.
So I know exactly what you mean by that.

I hope this helps.

Hello Eric,

thanks for your polite, prompt reply.
Well, I tried to access the part by the link in the mail-help, but...
Seems, I have to wait (not my best side)
Are you sure, that Pocos support is at work and not in vacs?
I mailed them (an poss severe) problem, not any response/receipt. .:(
When I installed the ver 3.3, NOD32 came up with a warning.
new_heur, possible virus in POImport.exe, same with testing Barca.
Seems the progs use the same modul.
The file is quarantinend now.
Might be, that's a known problem and therefor no response. :)
BTW: PocoMail is the best mail-client I've found, really.
But I think, it would be nice to have an option, to insert a link, modifying the url into a title (like mozilla/netscape/thunderbird)
Greetings from Munich

Sorry, didn't know about it.
Could you send a Private message to Jim?
Be sure no Spam detection software is interfering on receiving their response.

Please include all the details concerning your purchase!

 Probably a false positive from the heuristic scanner. Have you sent the file in question to Eset for analysis?

For me too these are the best. Also download the latest build 3.3.2110 for Poco & build 1.2.960 for Barca..
BTW you can insert a link into a word, just click on the World icon with the chain when in Styled, but first highlight the word.

Have to go now and it will be late when I come back, so good luck.

Geezer,

If you are still having access problem, please send your license code to support AT pocosystems DOT com, and we will fix the problem immediately. Thank you for your patience, and thanks to Eric for taking care of you :D

Hello,

yes,Jim, Eric should be known as ELRIC in the future (taking care of a newbie is really heroic).

Following Erics advice, I snet my purchase data via PN to Jim.

to the virus warning:
I fear at the moment I'm not allowed to bother Eset, I'm in the 30days eval phase.

to the problem of no answer:
No spam progs or filters are active., I receiev the mails announcing
board activities, but no answer from the support. thta's why I asked here.

inserting a link in a word:
Well I*ll try your advice, Eric. But I came from Mozilla/../.. and they
have a comfortable solution. Under the point insert xou can choose
insert a link. in a popup you may choos the title of the lnil freely and insert the url in the second line. would be nice to have in Poco.

regs and my thnaks to you both

Just an update: support did get your initial email about infected POImport.exe, they have let me know and we tested our distribution file with 3 virus checkers to make sure it is safe right away. So unless the file got infected after the download (in which case you can just download it again), you can ignore that warning, NOD32 is mistaken, probably due to POImport code that accesses Outlook message base when you are performing Outlook import.

Hello Slaven,
thanks for this update, I thought so, but who knows.
So I better reported it to Pco.
BTW: As I said above. NOD32 said: possible new virus.
The warning showed up during the installation process and stopps
its installation.
If I would have gotten the answer to my mail earlier, I wouldn't have
posted the prob here.
But who knows, it might help other users :)

Your problem was forwarded to me for further testing, as you weren't directly affected (your AV caught it :) ), but it could be a lot more problematic for others. Fortunately, it was all fine so JF was able to give you the word back. We were in the middle of posting a set of updates at that time too! :)

Hello,

if I understood you right, NOD32 has done a good work. :))
Well, I ordereed the registration . :-))
I found the hint for this AV here:

http://www.av-comparatives.org/

According to this forum, they are the only, finding 100% of new ITW
samples.

BTW: I had the same problem some days earlier, when I tried to

test BARCA. During the installation NOD shows it's warning too.
This warning concerned some files, which should be copied to tmp.
(I hope I remember this right)

regs, thx & cu

Hello,

thank you for the hint. .:)
Do you mean tweak in the sense of optiimize or squill?
If the second:
No, I get no sales fee. :-(
But I have it for free. :-)
BUT: To get it for free, you have to be a member of WinTotal, and
that's not free, but worthy to be. :D
http://wintotal.de/
Cause it's a German board, it might be interesting for German users.
(Maybe someone might wish to make a link on the German board (if it
exist)..

You're most welcome.

The link I gave you is about extra settings for NOD32, so if you like to tweak it to perfection  ... you may do so.
It's also the official forum, so if you've questions you can look it up there or ask it if you want. :)
BTW: Seems, you are allowed to use html and I'm an underdog. :(
I'm using the url tags and others. You can use it too, if you allowed it in your profile. :D

Now that you're registered in their database, you can dowload scripts & skins. The website remains the same, but you don't have to enter your license code for download.
Have you tried it?
