Turning an image into URL in a template

Postby Leeuw » Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:39 pm

Hi,
Happy New Year everyone.
I was wondering if it is possible to make an image clickable in a template, just like you do on a web page.
What I mean is, I have got a small JPEG in a template, which i use on a webpage as well, on the web page, clicking on the image opens the URL of that site.
I can't seem to do it in the template, I seem to have to put the URL underneath the image, rather than making it possible to click the image in order to reach the web page in question.

Is it possible to achieve what I want in a template, and if so, how is it done.

Thanks in advance.
Leeuw.

Hi Leeuw,

most probably it's only achievable through manual editing (unless I didn't test for long enough):

This shall be put on second line of your template, right after the %account% tag which shal be on first line:
Code: Select all
%encoded%:H:\Program Files\Barca2\Emoticons\02.gif

The above is a path to the image on my PC, it will be different on your computer.

And this is the actual HTML line, to be put in the body of the template:
Code: Select all
<A href="http://www.pocosystems.com/"><IMG SRC="H:\Program Files\Barca2\Emoticons\02.gif" WIDTH="18" HEIGHT="18"/></A>

Again it's my own html, specific to the picture. You shall replace with own url, own image path, and change or delete width and height attributes.

Thanks for this, Tomas.
However, what happens is that, after entering the HTML code, rather than putting the link into the template, it just literally shows up in the template.
What I mean is, whatever I typed in is just printed in the template: <A HREF= blablabla...........>

I have probably forgotten how to enter HTML into Barca templates (too long ago).

Thanks,
Leeuw.

You are welcome.
Both of the above you would have to enter through manual editing, not through Barca, ie. edit the template file with a plain text editor like notepad.exe.

Or just send the template to me, eg. through PM, and I can do it for you too. Or through helpdesk.

The template file can be found in Templates directory, in your Barca data directory. If any doubts, just send a message to helpdesk through Help > Email support.
