Barca Pro 2.5.0.3910 keeps freezing

Hi everyone

I'm evaluating Barca Pro 2.5.0.3910, which pretty much works great, but I'm getting very annoyed over the constant freezing of the application.

It is, as every time i even think about doing anytime; sending email, opening menu etc. it stalls/freezes for several seconds. Meaning, its completely unusable, if one wants to be productive.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I'm on a Windows XP with SP3.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. :?

Maybe this can help: Poco installation freezing, since it's a known issue with Nvidia drivers.

If not Nvidia, have a look at Editor freezing.

Hope some of those suggestions will help you to solve the problem. ;)

I tried deleting the files mentioned, but it doesn't really seem to help. Maybe its my AV, I'm using AVG Free 8.0. I'll check it out.

Could you perhaps check if there are new drivers for your PC?
Installing the latest drivers may perhaps help.

So you deleted the barca.ini file and restarted.
Still no change. :?

I don't think it could be your AV, but I could be wrong too.
Perhaps something blocks Barca, so it could be anything on your PC.

:idea: Will need a bit more information to see if there's a possible conflict.

- What firewall are you using?
- Any other anti-spyware running in the background?
If so, which one(s).
- Are you using a HIPS by any chance?

You could eventually re-install Barca into another directory to see if it's still the same.

Or maybe this topic can help.

I had AVG slowing down my installation significantly, but that was few versions of AVG and few years back. Generally, I didn't hear from other users about such problem recently, but in individual cases it can't be excluded.

Hi

I gave up... :roll:

I had Barca Pro installed on two different machines, and they both froze constantly.

Further, I couldn't get calendar sharing via my ftp-site working...

So now I migrated to a combination a Thunderbird, lightning, Google Apps for my domain and "Provider for Google Calendar". And well, it just works :)

:shock: Really very strange, since I installed Barca onto my other laptop and previously on my desktop without any problem.
