Outgoing Server Authentication

Postby hall2005 » Wed Dec 28, 2005 12:52 pm

Hi,

Is necessary or redundant to include Outgoing Server Authentication (OSA) information for POPmail accounts?

I have a Comcast eMail address and they suggest that I use OSA, but I do not have it set that way and seem to have no problem. This doesn't affect my POPmail accounts either.

But is there a reason I should use them? I know little about this part of mail servers.

Thanks,
Hall
