Problem with access SMTP [Mod: Resolved]

Postby Penintel » Mon Oct 27, 2008 5:59 pm

Hello everybody!

Everrything was going fine with Poco, then, all of a sudden, impossible to send a mail.
I am getting a message: "Impossible to connect to smtp.xxx, 5.5.1 command unrecognized"
I tried recreating the account several times! No way. I am receiving but cannot send!
Any help?
Thank you in advance! and All the best!

Hi Pierre,

in most cases when the email server returns this error message, it means that you are trying to use authentication but the server doesn't support it.

Please press F3 while in Pocomail for an accounts list, select account, click Edit button, click Outgoing tab, untick the option "Use Outgoing server authentication" and click OK to save setting.
If you are not using per-account configuration, but a global one, also go to options, Sending Mail/Default Server, and untick the same option there too.

Hello Tomas!

Thanks, it worked all right!
Just a question of parameters that I mixed up!
Thank you again!
