Blank messages - partial resolution

Postby robin » Fri Sep 17, 2004 8:10 am

There has been a lot written about "blank messages" - however they might be described. But I've just received one that really *is* blank, empty, nothing in it, suggesting that the problem may lie not with PocoMail but with the sender.

This was a spam message and the entire content (on the server and looked at without PocoMail or Barca being involved) is
Code: Select all
X-Kaspersky: Checked
Return-Path: <Cherry@myresponder.biz>
Received: from p508FBE63.dip.t-dialin.net ([80.143.190.99])

.
This is clearly malformed; and since PocoMail was not involved in the transfer then it is not implicated. When viewed in PocoMail all you see is the date, To:, From:, Subject are all empty.

So what I am saying is that if you get what appears to be a blank e-mail (no content, no header, whatever) perhaps is
is.

I receive countless blank messages as your example shows and I have proven to myself this is not a Poco/Barca issue as the message also appears this way on the server (in every case).

Now blank headers (with a complete message body) are another issue :-)
