Not downloading attachments

Postby sokoyu » Fri Sep 24, 2004 3:33 am

Hi folks,

Is there anyway of configuring Poco so that it doesn't download messages with attachments that are likely to have viruses. No one I know is ever going to send me a .pif file or a .scr file (and if they do, I don't want it) so I'd really like to have Poco look at it on the server and then just delete it without it getting anywhere near my hard disk.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Eddie

There is no configuration that will let you do that. You might be able to do it with a script that can look at the headers on the server but I'm not a PocoScript specialist. You might do better to use View Mail on Server (or Accounts Online) and manually delete the suspicious ones.

Sorry.

Hi Robin,

I suspected that this might not be possible. Thanks anyway.

Eddie

In Accounts Setup you can specify a file size to not download. Set it for about 50K and you'll block the vast majority of attachments.
