Any chance of getting an evaluation extension for Pocomail?

Postby JD » Sat Mar 18, 2006 1:16 pm

Hi,

I bought an earlier version of Pocomail some years ago. Recently, I had downloaded a newer version of Pocomail to evaluate it. At the same time, I was evaluating several other email clients. I had decided to go with Thunderbird without really giving the new version of Pocomail a good workout. Thunderbird has been giving me alot of problems lately so I decided to give Pocomail another shot. Problem is, my evaluation period has expired, even though I used it for only a few days.

Question: is there any way I can get an extension so I can evaluate it again? Even a 2 week extension should be sufficient. I can provide my license number from my older version of Poco if needed. Should I try PM-ing Slaven about this?

Thanks!

Can't help you with that, so best to contact Support about it.

:!: Include that license code and state the reason for wanting another evaluation period.

Sending a PM to Slaven is best used as a last option.

Hope you'll get an extension so you can really give it a spin.
Another option would be to purchase it while you got a money back guarantee.

Thanks Eric, I'll do that. When I used Pocomail years ago, I really liked it. The only reason I quit using it was it was a bit buggy for me, had intermittent issues, etc.

I've been reading the forums here, and did a search on IMAP to see if there were any known issues. I was a bit disappointed to see that there are some problems. For example, when sending a message from an IMAP account, the message isn't stored in the IMAP's sent folder, instead it's stored in the local folder. A workaround was suggested to manually move the message from local to IMAP. I was surprised to see this since Pocomail has an incredible amount of options available, I thought for sure that proper IMAP handling was a given. I have several IMAP accounts and would like them to work properly.

I see where there is a beta version, I wonder if the IMAP is improved? I may wait until it's released before I evaluate Poco again, unless I can evaluate the beta version.

You're welcome JD.

The current beta has been extremely stable on my system.
No crashes at all and a pleasure to work with.
Of course some issues have been posted, but that's why it's a beta.

I'm not a true IMAP user, so I'll leave those observations to someone else.

If you still have a valid license code, you can always send an email to Support, requesting access to the Beta section.
In that case you'll get you're extension because a license code isn't needed in the beta. :)

Good luck.

Your message was probably sent to me as it relates to beta (beta related messages are a bit behind now) - can you send me a private message with your full name and email? Thanks!
