Exporting BarcaPro emails

Postby bcollis » Sun Jun 21, 2009 12:34 pm

As traitorous as this sounds, I am having to leave the Windows world where I've been since Windows started, and enter the doman of the Apple iMac. I know it is nigh on impossible to export the contents of BarcoPro email folders (ie. the inbox etc) to other PC email software so this might be a forlorn request, but is it possible to export to a format recognised by either Mail or Entourage on a Mac?
Many thanks in advance.

There are also some topics about others running Poco/Barca on Mac, although I can't find them right now. :?

There are a few ways to run PocoMail/Barca on a Mac.

You can use Boot Camp the comes with OS X, but it requires you to reboot to switch between windows and OS X

There is also Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion.

Last and not least there is VirtualBox

Moving BarcoPro mail to Mac

Postby bcollis » Wed Jun 24, 2009 10:52 am

Dear All

The export as a Eudora mbox folder and importing that into Mail worked perfectly. Sincere thanks for all your help ... and yes I am tempted to use Boot Camp so I can keep using BarcoPro as my email. A shame it hasn't been developed for Mac as it's the best email program I've found and that's from someone who has been using email since the very first Eudora hit the scene after we all moved from Dos to Windows.
regards
Brad

Thanks for the post back information. If I ever need to shift over to Apple Mail at least I know how to do it.

I have more than one computer and have one XP Pro machine basically for PocoMail and a few other programs. I also have a Mac Pro.

As for using PocoMail/Barca on a Mac I would recommend giving VirtualBox a try. Second would be Parallels.
