Is there any size limitation for the folder that you store messages in?

I see Poco is at 4.8. If I were to purchase now, would I be charged for the 5.0 version?

No limitation, although it would be better to store very old messages somewhere else.

You'll only will have to pay a small upgrade fee.
You can always test the new upgrade to know if it fits your needs prior to paying for the upgrade. No need to remove the previous version.
