New Board

Postby IanM » Mon Jan 24, 2011 10:05 pm

Now we are getting somewhere with this "new" board, this is one of the best boards out there
and many thanks to those who choose it and set it up.

Looks like we can continue with our posts with very few spams.

Eric, Robin and any others can now relax and do what they want to do, and those nutcases
should now be finished with.

hip hip hooray, great stuff.
Thank you.

Glad you like it Ian :D
Now off to explore it a bit more, so I can get used to those moderator functions.
Have to figure everything out.
No manual to be found. :? Anyone got info about that?

BTW It's thanks to Slaven that we've this new board. 8)

They say "Learn about working with phpBB3 as an Administrator, a Moderator, or even as a User. This has everything you need to know." about this one : http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/3.0/
though something only covering moderating without all the extras, might be more helpful I guess.
From the user point of view, this faq.php might do it for a quick help.

I think that it is the new server not the new board that is faster :P

It is a better board, but it never remembers me.
I have to log in every visit and that's with "Log me in automatically" checked and I don't delete my cookie.
Slightly annoying and this is the only php forum I have this problem with. :?

Are you logging out? That will remove the cookies.

I have the same problem and I never log out from any forum. :D

It is really a minor inconvenience for me - just log back in checking the boxes and go about my business.
Does it work for you ?

If I was logging out I wouldn't have mentioned it, as having to log in every time would be the expected behaviour.
