Importing your data into PocoMail

We know that moving email clients can be painful, especially if you collected years of email archives you wish to move to your new email home.
We have strived to ensure that PocoMail not only offers a superior email experience, but also give you a simple way out of your current email program.

Furthermore, we do not believe in locking people into using our product by holding their information hostage - this is why it is easy to archive, share and import your PocoMail PE data into a program of your choosing, thanks to our open format policy for all program user files.

Prepare for a move to PocoMail

For starters, it always helps to compact or compress your mailboxes in the program you will be leaving, before you move your information over. This will ensure that deleted messages are purged from your mailboxes and make for a smoother transition.

Install PocoMail

After PocoMail installer is finished just run PocoMail for the first time. The Setup Wizard will ask you for some email account information. On the following page of the wizard you will be able to tell PocoMail that you wish to import messages and/or address books from another program by checking the appropriate checkboxes.

Import your messages and/or contacts

The Import wizard will appear next, though you can always recall it by going to File > Import menu. Choose from the list of supported programs to start the import and add any other requested information. Pressing Start will commence the import. That's it!

*If you are using Outlook try POImport utility which you can download here:

This information didn't help me!

If your email program is not supported by our Import wizards don't despair - we are constantly expanding the list of supported formats, and there are alternate ways to proceed with the move:

  • Take a look at the Import section of our FAQ for additional information on your email program.
  • Try exporting your messages/addresses from your current email program to a format that PocoMail Import supports.
  • Look through our forums for more information.
  • Use a third-party program as a bridge between PocoMail and your email software, such as Mailbag Assistant from Fookes Software.
